Sauer Sam's Oktoberfests
Sauer Sam Oktoberfest Band is a raucous four-piece German-themed polka band that’s been bringing the chaos (and the charm) for over a decade to audiences of all kinds!
Our live music blends traditional German polka and waltzes with unexpected twists.
Our high-energy shows mix traditional German polkas and waltzes with a youth-driven twist: Chappell Roan’s glam-pop gets the “Pink Pony Polka” treatment, Emo night favorites are given a Bavarian bounce, and classic German drinking songs are shouted in unison!
We love engaging audiences of all ages with interactive roaming sets, singalongs, and German dance favorites like the Chicken Dance, Fliegerlied, and the German drinking song, “Ein Prosit!”
It’s not just Oktoberfest—it’s a fun song, dance-til-you-drop musical celebration!
Origins of Sauer Sam
Sam Khosravi started as a bartender at a German-themed restaurant after studying abroad in Germany. Singing along the song behind the bar, to his luck, one day he got to fill in as the frontman of the polka house band. He floored the show that night, and since then, he's never turned back. He soon became Sauer Sam, a fearless frontman whose one-liners, German polka, Britney butt shakes, and Rammstein impressions make audiences laugh and singalong all at the same time!
On accordion, Melinda West joined the band to to show she could stomp on tables while doing the 'Chicken Dance' at the same time. Yep, all while playing her a 23-pound accordion.
On drums, Tyler Hammond slams the drums, improvises dropouts to get the crowds to singalong, and on rare occasion speeds up the tempos to near ridiculous speeds for the sake of comedy. All adding a fun elixir and aggressive backbone to the band's sound.
And on bass, Paul Kavadias holds the whole sound down with steady grooves while the music and madness unfolds around him.
